Clarifications on the Future of YoWorld
Hey YoFans!
We’ve seen some confusion in the community about some of the upcoming changes to YoWorld, so we’d love to take a moment and clarify a few things about the future of YoWorld on Facebook and the New World Initiative.
While similar, these two changes to the future of YoWorld are completely separate circumstances. Here’s exactly what’s happening:
Facebook is shutting down all Web Games
Facebook is removing its Canvas Gaming platform in September 2026. Because of this, YoWorld will no longer be playable on Facebook after September 1st, 2026.
This decision is completely beyond our control, and doesn’t just impact YoWorld. Every single canvas game that used Facebook as a platform is in a similar position to our team - preparing for a future where their game will no longer be available on Facebook as of September. We know a lot of our fellow developers are likely encountering the same struggle, and we hope those of you who enjoy other games on Facebook are able to enjoy your favorite titles on other platforms.
The great news is, as our team has prepared YoWorld.com as a stable, independent platform, Facebook shutting down is far from the end of YoWorld. All you need to do is make sure your account information is protected:
To protect your progress, items, and currency, you must migrate your Classic YoWorld account from Facebook to YoWorld.com before September 1st, 2026. ⚠️ Accounts that are not migrated may be lost once Facebook shuts its canvas games platform down, so if you haven’t migrated your account yet, please do so ASAP!
Classic YoWorld continues on YoWorld.com
Our plan has always been to provide ongoing support for YoWorld, and YoWorld.com will continue to be just that. After migrating, you can continue playing Classic YoWorld on YoWorld.com with no interruption.
Same game. Same account. Same items. Same fun! Nothing about Classic YoWorld is ending — only its availability on Facebook.
The New World is a separate future project
The New World initiative is a completely separate project being developed to expand the YoWorld universe. It’s something our team was already working on several months prior to the announcement of Facebook no longer supporting canvas games. This new project will not replace Classic YoWorld and does not affect your current account.

Why work on the New World? Well, there are a lot of good reasons. We’ve never been shy about the trouble YoWorld’s old infrastructure has caused us, and it’s extremely difficult to build our community new features, contests, and minigames when we’re constantly restricted by Classic YoWorld’s outdated code. YoWorld is a game heavily defined by the collaboration we have with our community, so while we continue to support Classic YoWorld, we hope you enjoy being an active part of building this new chapter with us.
